Advertising options

The Watertown Webnet business directory offers you inexpensive ways in which to advertise your business on our site.

FREE LISTINGS: are available to all businesses located within the City of Watertown and the surrounding area up to a 15 mile radius of the city limits. Your business must be physically located within these boundaries and it's physical location must be verifiable in order to qualify for a free listing. If your business does not qualify, please read on for other options.

AD REQUIREMENTS and SPECIFICATIONS

BANNER ADS will be displayed at the top of our site pages above the text content but not above the page header (which is the photo you see at the top of the pages). You may specify a page selection if you wish (when you submit your ad request) and we will do our best to accomodate your wishes. If you do not specify a placement page, we will display your ad on what we consider to be an appropriate page for your banner content and business category.

Absolutely no horizontal banners will run at the top of our home page or our contact page. However, we will display horizontal banners at the bottom of the text content on these pages on request. Horizontal banners at the bottom of these pages and vertical banners or box ads are acceptable for display on the home and contact page for an additional nominal fee.

BOX ADS are displayed randomly throughout our site, again unless you specify page placement. Purchasing a few of our box ads is an excellent and inexpensive way in which to get your business seen in several places on our site! The pricing and requirements for these type of ads will follow the same guidelines as our banner ads.

We will not honor requests for unsolicited, random pop up ads of any kind. If you wish to display a pop up ad, it must include a visible notification to the site visitors that your ad will open in a new or pop up window.

Our cost for our advertising services is quite modest. If you wish to take advantage of our banner or box advertising opportunities, please fill out and submit our Advertising Request form. We will then contact you by email generally within 48 hours to discuss the detail. Please double check that all form entries are correct before submitting, particularly your email address and telephone number. If we can't contact you, we can't display your ad.

BANNER and BOX AD REQUIREMENTS:

  • HORIZONTAL BANNERS are 400 pixels wide by 60 to 80 pixels high and will be displayed at the top of our page text content with some restrictions. No paid banner ad will run at the top of our home page or our contact page. Alternate placement on these pages is accepted on request at an additional nominal fee.
  • VERTICAL BANNERS are 80 to 150 pixels wide by 400 to 500 pixels tall and will be displayed in the left or right columns of the site content on the page of your choice, with the same restrictions as the horizontal banner or box ads.
  • BOX ADS are 80 to 150 pixels square or rectangular in size and shape and will be displayed in the left or right columns of the site content.
  • ALL ADS must be on a white background or have a white border on all four sides.
  • If you need a visual on sizing and/or placement please visit the ad sample page.
  • ALL ADS WILL BE LINKED TO YOUR WEB SITE if you have one. You may select the page on your site you wish to have the banner linked to. If no selection is given, it will be linked to your home page. If you do not have a web site, you may contract to have one created for you through PBC Web Design. Discounted design rates and web design packages are available to businesses that purchase banner or box ads on www.watertownweb.net. So, if you currently do not have a web site or are interested in updating your existing site, let us know at the time you submit your banner or box ad request.
  • All ads must be "Rated PG" as we do not accept ads or free listings that would be considered adult content or in any way distasteful or controversial.
  • If you are a local business you may have your free listing and and for additional exposure, in addition to your free listing you may also take advantage of our paid banner and box ad options.
  • We will not honor requests for unsolicited pop up ads of any kind. If you wish to present your business or product via the use of a pop up ad, it must be plainly indicated that the ad will open in a new or pop up window.
  • Although not a requirement for paid advertisement or a free listing, a reciprocal link back to our site would be greatly appreciated! If you place a link to our site on yours, we would also appreciate a brief notification of the link placement including the page URL that our link is displayed on your site. A link to our site is prohibited on any site that deals with adult, controversial, or religious content. It is also prohibited to display our link that in any way indicates that we endorse or promote your business or product. Please visit our Link to Us page for acceptable linking practices, phrases and images (buttons) that you may use on your site to link to us.

BANNER and BOX AD PRICING:

Monthly advertising fees are just $15.00 each per month per banner ad and just $10.00 per month for box ads. Ads are displayed on a pre-paid basis only. You can SAVE MONEY and at the same time get more exposure by selecting our box or banner ad "Display 3 Plan" which is $35.00 per month for three banner ads or $25.00 for 3 box ads. If you place your ad for a period of six months you'll save an additional 5% off the monthly rate and if you display your ad for a period of one year, you'll save an additional 10% on any of our monthly plans. Yearly advertising plans are pre-payable in two installments. One half the total amount is pre-paid before your ad will run, the other half is pre-paid at the six month mark.

If you would like PBC Web Design to design your ad for you, the cost is a one time fee of $50.00 each banner or box ad or $125.00 for three. If you select to purchase three at the discounted price, you may opt for all banners, all boxes or a combination of both sizes.

You may select a run time of 1, 3 or 6 months, which is renewable within 5 business days prior to the first day of the last month that your ad is scheduled to run. If you do not renew, your ad will be automatically removed from our site and will be considered canceled. If you purchased a banner or box ad designed by PBC Web Design, your ad will be kept on file for future use so that you will not need to purchase new unless you decide you want a change in the existing design.

Placement on our home page or contact page requires and additional $5.00 fee for each banner or box ad displayed on either of these pages.This fee is required for any box or banner ad displayed on either of these pages in any acceptable location on the page including the side boards. *Banner ads may not run at the top of either of these pages.

PAYMENTS, CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

All paid ads must be pre-paid before they will be displayed on the site.

You may cancel your ad at any time, however we have a NO REFUND policy so when you place your ad, please do so with a run time that you are comfortable with. You can always extend your run time whenever you wish just by contacting us. A previously canceled ad is renewable at any time at the current advertising rate in effect at the time you renew.
